 Another
night at the Three
Rivers Arts Festival with the 2 year old and I ran into my parents
who willfully took possession of the youngster and continued to spoil
her with attention and junk food.
There was a smallish crowd
but thankfully no threat of rain. The Holmes Brothers are a three-piece
blues trio from Virginia and have been playing together for over 25 years.
The band is made up of two brothers, bassist Sherman and guitarist Wendell
Holmes, and rounded out by Poppy Dixon on drums.
This was a nice laid back show
made a little entertaining by the front row of, how shall I say, mentally
challenged audience members enjoying themselves. The band’s performance
was tight and they played “We Meet, We Part, We Remember,”
which has been in rotation at WYEP.
One song that really got things jumpin’ was “Speaking In Tongues.”
Definitely worth the trip and an enjoyable evening.
